Survivor and Co-Productions
In 1997 Strix Television was the first company in the world to produce Survivor – the global phenomenon that heralded the worldwide reality TV boom. Strix has produced or co-produced the format for over 60 different series in more than 20 countries.
Strix has a formidable track record in co-production, with other highly successful co-productions of non-Strix formats such as Top Model and Extreme Makeover, and of Strix’s in-house formats, Camp Molly and The Farm.
In-House Formats
Strix Television’s original in-house formats have been sold in more than 75 countries. The Farm has aired in over 40 countries since its debut in 2001. The Bar was the world’s first entirely interactive TV show and has been sold in over 65 countries.
Strix’s groundbreaking green reality format Paradise Lost took out the Social Awareness Award at the prestigious Rose d’Or Awards in 2006 – the first time in the history of the Rose d’Or that a reality show had won the Social Awareness category. The program premiered in Norway in 2005 and has been optioned or licensed in over 20 countries.
Ruth66 has been produced in Portugal, and Finland’s YLE2 turned My Best Friend into a huge ratings success. Other Strix formats such as Kerry’s Getting Married, Floor Filler and Trading Places have been sold and produced across the globe, including in Australia, Turkey, Chile and Germany.

It’s with the same flair and energy that Strix has created a series of dynamic new formats in genres as diverse as factual entertainment, drama, edutainment, social investigation and lifestyle.
Strix Television’s Drama department produced the highly original comedy-drama, 24th, which debuted on Norway’s TV3 just months after the new department was launched in 2005. In 2006 Strix Television beat a host of competitors to supply Swedish pub broadcaster SVT with a new humour series – Grotesco Royal – airing for the first time in the summer of 2007.

Our Story
Strix Television was founded in 1988 by Robert Aschberg, and has grown to become one of the biggest television production and format companies in Scandinavia, and a respected international provider of original formats.
Strix Televisions parent company is the international entertainment broadcasting group, Modern Times Group MTG AB. Strix has its head office in Stockholm, Sweden, and maintains an international presence with affiliate offices in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo and Prague.
